Our story

With so much encouragement for women to breastfeed, what I didn’t plan for was the hidden challenges that came along with it. I had no idea how hard, exhausting and painful it can be when you first get started. You may need a lot of support, especially when you combine this all with sleep deprivation.

After finally learning the secrets of “correct attachment” and overcoming various breastfeeding related infections, I discovered there was one thing missing from making my nursing experience enjoyable – comfortable, affordable clothing that allowed her to breastfeed with discreetly and comfortably in public.

Even though it is against the law to discriminate against women breastfeeding in public, it can be very stressful for new mums who want to get out and about. So it becomes important for women to feed discreetly and comfortably.

In a quest to find a solution, I went on to start a successful business selling breastfeeding clothing like none other available on the Australian market. Funky Muma was born...

These fashionable, "funky" clothes are a dream come true for mums. They are perfect for outings, shopping, walks, night feeds, even to exercise in. These designs have really made so many mums live's significantly easier allowing them to concentrate on giving their full attention to their new babies. I couldn't be more passionate about breastfeeding after a very rocky start with infections, mastitis - you name it, I had it and I know I'm not alone and I want to make it easier for others.
